I have not been here in a very long time but noticed I had some new visitors. I would be happy to hear from others about their experiences. I tried to jump back in and start up my diet several times but I guess I was not in the right state of mind for it. I have been doing a rather unconventional route this time and trying new things. I will post on my updates again soon.
Here are my before and after .. I have more after when I get to adding them
Wow, I did not realize how far behind I have been. I am just pushing through getting to the finish line. I am tweaking and trudging through getting every last bit I can before I break from my plan. I am beyond the days a normal round should go but I am considering 40 pounds lost before I quit.
I took a look back today to see how far I have come. It is day 49, exactly 7 weeks. I have lost 30 pounds. That is on average .62 pounds per day which fits right within the average for women. I can’t even believe how much time has gone by and I am so close to the end. I almost don’t want to stop I am addicted to this losing. I will have to post with my measurements lost next time.
Well, I have been falling behind and have not even tried new recipes. I have been getting assistance from some great and experienced HCGers who are helping me get the most of this diet. After a whole week losing only 1.4 and no cheats I figured I needed some pointers
I spent a day eating nothing but an apple and an 8oz strip steak for dinner. First time I lost 1.2 pounds overnight and second time I lost 2.0 pounds. Not bad for week 5. I also had several days of nothing but chicken ..yep 500 calories of chicken but it was a nice change. Less loss than the steak but I am finding this helps me see what my body responds best to.
I hope to see more HCG friends joining, following and chatting with me at my blog. It has been great finding buddies for help and support.
Happy Losing!!

I found that there are smart ways to tweak this plan with the right coaching. I have wanted to try things and have been afraid to change anything from protocol. I did say in an earlier post that you need to follow this plan to the letter. However, I have found that by keeping in touch with others and connecting with some HCG veterans there are smart things to do without ruining your diet.
Some simple variations may be just what you need to get a boost or to end a stall. First start by eating early and no eating after 7. It’s better to spread food out by eating small amounts throughout the day. Changing up food is a good idea. Try skipping fruit and adding protein in order to meet the 500 calories.
Make sure you find someone who can help you along and share their experiences. There is nothing I have found more valuable than friends I am meeting a long the way.
I recently discovered Tony Chachere’s Creole seasoning. It has a bit of a high salt content but it is incredible on grilled chicken. I will be using this long after I am off my HCG plan. Here are my two favorite new meals of this week.
Sweet and Spicy Mustard Dressing
2 tablespoons spicy brown mustard
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon Bragg’s liquid aminos (or soy sauce)
Pinch of turmeric, Chili Powder & Cayenne
1 clove garlic finely minced
1/2 tsp onion powder
Stevia to taste
I like to make at least a double batch so I have some in the refrigerator. Turmeric and Cayenne add spice so flavor to taste or leave them out to keep it mild. Put all ingredients in a container and shake to blend and shake before serving.
Chili
100 grams lean ground beef (less than 7% fat)
1 cup chopped tomatoes
½ cup water
1 tablespoon minced onion
2 cloves garlic crushed and minced
Pinch of garlic powder
Pinch of onion powder
¼ teaspoon chili powder
Pinch of cilantro (or oregano)
Cayenne pepper to taste (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Brown ground beef in small frying pan, add onions and garlic. Stir in
tomatoes and water. Add spices and simmer slowly until liquid is reduced.
The longer it cooks the more tender and flavorful. Add a little water as
needed to prevent burning.
I am posting a bit out of order because I realized some of my week 2 things got left in my draft folder. So here are some food favorites from week 2. I am not a fan of eating oranges because I don’t like all the chewy pieces. I decided to mix it with ice and vanilla cream stevia with my hand blender …loved it!
Chicken Curry
100 grams chicken sliced (beef may be used also), ½ clove minced garlic, ½ t. minced fresh ginger (¼ dried), ¼ t. ground coriander, ¼ t. curry powder, 1/8 t. ground cumin, 1 shake turmeric, 2 shakes pepper, 4 shakes sea salt, 4 T. water
Mix all spices in a pan until blended then add chicken pieces until cooked through. If you aren’t eating another vegetable you can cut a whole sweet onion and cook that in the sauce before adding chicken. Also works well over spinach
Asian Cucumber Salad 1 cucumber sliced/ diced, 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 1 tablespoon Bragg’s amino acids, 1 shake of ground ginger (optional), 1 pinch of chili powder (optional), 1 teaspoon finely minced onion (or onion powder), cayenne pepper to taste, Stevia to taste
Mix all the ingredients and refrigerate at least 15 minutes up to 24 hours. I like all the spices in it but it is also very good without Ginger, Chili Powder or Cayenne. It just depends on taste.
I am done with week three and I am still somewhat in disbelief that I actually lost 16.2 lbs so far. I decided to do a couple high protein days that I have heard others mention. It worked pretty well I had a couple big loss days. I even had a visit from TOM this week so I can’t complain with a 4.8 loss. I thought this would be harder to stick with but the longer I am on this plan the easier I think it has been. I crave good foods but have no desire or intention on cheating. Halfway there and I can’t wait to see the new me in three more weeks.
